Our work at Arrow Engineered Products requires that we hold several certifications that demonstrate our commitment to quality, safety, and skills updating in everything we do.
To help our customers better understand which certifications we hold and at which Arrow facility, we thought the list and breakdown below would be helpful.
CWB CSA Standard W47.1 (Cambridge – VeriForm / Cambridge – Baumeier)
Holding this certification demonstrates that Arrow complies with the procedures, personnel, and equipment standards involved in the fusion welding of steel set out by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB). With this standard in place, customers are assured that we have the qualifications and capabilities to produce high-quality welds.
CWB CSA Standard W47.2 (Cambridge – Baumeier)
This standard is similar to CWB CSA Standard W47.1, except that it pertains to aluminum fusion welding. Similarly, it shows that Arrow’s welding supervisors have proven experience in aluminum welding and have passed written examinations on welding symbols, weld faults, quality control, and inspection methods.
ISO 9001:2015 (Cambridge – VeriForm / Cambridge – Baumeier / Stratford)
Metalworking companies in Canada that hold ISO 9001 certification signal that they’ve implemented a quality management system that allows them to conform to the standard’s requirements based on a 3rd-party audit. This certification helps us build customer trust and form new relationships based on our proven commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
AWS (Stratford)
AWS standards require that metalworking facilities conform to a strict set of rules and requirements governing the practice of welding. The AWS committee is made up of volunteer industry professionals who create and update standard and non-standard welding specifications.
API (Stratford)
API standards specifically govern the oil and gas industry. Holding this certification means Arrow conforms to all rules and technical requirements for designing and fabricating metal storage tanks for oil, petroleum, and other liquid substances.
PED 97/23/EC (Stratford)
Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/CE establishes guidelines and regulations for designing, manufacturing, and testing pressure-containing equipment. Arrow holds this certification as we design and fabricate large metal tanks purpose-built for storing chemicals and fluids that are flammable, toxic, explosive, or considered otherwise dangerous.
TSSA (Stratford)
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) mandates technical safety regulations and provides safety oversight of boilers and pressure vessels (including piping) storing natural gas, propane, liquid fuels, and much more. As manufacturers of quality-engineered metal products that contain potentially harmful liquids and chemicals, having this certification is critical.
STI + SPFA (Stratford)
STI/SPFA, along with input from government and third-party agencies, primarily creates standards and regulations for the steel tank and pipe industry. Its SP001 standard pertains to aboveground storage tanks, one of the quality products we design and build at Arrow. STI/SPFA also issues fuel storage, environmental regulations, chemical storage tank regulations, and more.
ULC (Stratford)
ULC (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada) certification means that our commercial buildings have fire monitoring systems and burglar alarms that comply with building and safety codes. It demonstrates that our fire and security systems have been correctly installed and function properly, providing peace of mind to our customers that we take the protection of their projects and property seriously.
N299.3-16 (Cambridge – Baumeier)
Arrow Engineered Products offers nuclear welding solutions, which require the N299.3-16 certification. These standards outline requirements for quality assurance systems and provide strict guidelines for verifying production processes, inspection, testing, and corrective actions.
ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 and CSA Standard B51 (Stratford)
These standards generally apply to piping systems used in various industrial locations. They pertain to Arrow as we create commercial-use indoor and outdoor pipe design and fabrication solutions. Arrow holds the below certifications:
- ASME B31.1: Sets out requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, erection, examination, testing, inspection, operation, and maintenance of piping systems in industrial applications such as geothermal heating systems, electric power generation, residential and commercial HVAC systems, water boilers and more
- ASME B31.3: Oversees the materials, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping used in chemical, petroleum, refrigerants, and other related applications
- CSA Standard B51: Publishes codes for the design, fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of high-pressure boilers, vessels, and piping
NB-415 Accreditation “R” (Stratford)
The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors offers several accreditation programs. Arrow is certified under accreditation “R”, meaning we follow the codes and standards that regulate the safe and proper repair and alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, and pressure-retaining items.
Controlled Goods Certified (Stratford, Cambridge – VeriForm, Cambridge – Baumeier)
Arrow Engineered Products designs and builds durable, high-quality defence products, which require certification under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Holding this certification means the Canadian Government has approved Arrow to examine, possess, or transfer controlled goods within Canada.
