As a progressive, forward-thinking company, Arrow Engineered Products understands that we wouldn’t be where we are today without hiring, retaining, and training the best-skilled talent who work hard every day to support customer projects with quality work.
Of course, this concept is nothing new to our leadership. When they first launched in 1923, our company’s founders set the foundation for sustainable, organic success by ensuring they attracted the top metalworkers and machinists available to their small shop. Since then, our workers have helped us grow into a world-class OEM fabrication supplier to global brands.
In this month’s blog, we’d like to recognize and celebrate three of the many talented individuals who have helped our company fulfill customer objectives for over 15 years.
Martin Witzke, CNC Machinist
Joined AEP’s Cambridge North facility in 1993
For the past 31 years, Martin has been a loyal and engaged employee who has seen a lot of changes in our industry. However, his ability to adapt to new technology has been a massive part of his successful career with our company.
Martin first joined us as a machinist who also had expert welding skills. His first customer collaboration was with Waterloo Scientific, a group of designers at the University of Waterloo, giving him the opportunity to apply his dedication and talent to bring their project to life.
His ability to refocus on new work quickly gives his machining team the agility required to meet project deadlines consistently. Martin’s willingness to share knowledge and mentor each new crop of metalworkers joining our team has helped our company develop new leaders, setting them on a positive career trajectory full of success.
“I like the family atmosphere and the way everyone motivates each other. I like the amount of interesting work that comes our way – it keeps things challenging and exciting. I also like the training aspect of my job. It is exciting and rewarding to watch someone you train take it beyond what you have taught.”
– Martin Witzke, CNC Machinist, Arrow Engineered Products
These days, you’ll find Martin operating our precision 3 and 4-axis fabrication machines as he continues to master new innovations that deliver better quality products to our customers.
Danny Sousa, Brake Press Operator
Joined AEP’s Cambridge South facility in 1998
Danny first joined our company as a temporary employee, starting as a plasma table operator. We spotted his abilities early and offered him a permanent position after 90 days. Danny’s still with Arrow 26 years later, and it’s been a pleasure to watch his career grow.
And it grew quickly! After only one year, he started on small machines before eventually becoming a master of the press brake. As a bending technical lead, Danny uses his extensive experience to bend complex and difficult sheet metal parts to the customer’s exact specifications. Danny completes every job with skill and precision, allowing us to take on complicated projects that other companies can’t.
“With Arrow, there are more incentives and benefits than when I worked for a small mom & pop shop. I like that the majority of the people I work with have been here for many years.”
– Danny Sousa, Brake Press Operator, Arrow Engineered Products
Danny’s tenure with our company is full of success stories where he and his teammates have fulfilled project objectives to our customers’ complete satisfaction, helping us earn repeat business that benefits our organization as a whole.
Bill Pedro, Welder Fitter
Joined AEP’s Stratford facility in 2005
It’s been 19 years, but to Bill, it only feels like yesterday. That’s because Bill does what he loves the most: applying his specialized skills as a welder fitter for longtime Arrow global OEM customers.
However, Bill’s interest in fulfilling customer objectives goes beyond his technical abilities. He takes an active interest in ensuring our production targets are met by maintaining a high standard of quality in everything he does. Bill also prioritizes efficiency, attention to detail, and being a team player who’s always ready to tackle the next assignment.
“Arrow has been very good to me. You can tell that the people at Arrow care about the employees. They are fair and accommodating.”
– Bill Pedro, Welder Fitter, Arrow Engineered Products
As Bill approaches his 20th anniversary with Arrow, he takes pride in knowing he made a difference in our customers’ success and looks forward to more challenges where he can apply his passion for excellence.
Thank you, Martin, Danny, and Bill, for continuing to be essential members of the Arrow Engineered Products team!
